Transformed Pub Wins Top Award

Brad and Molly Atherton celebrating their awards at the King’s Arms, St JustA couple who have completely transformed the fortunes of a West Cornwall pub and put it back at the heart of the community have scooped not one, but two awards in the regional finals of the Great British Pub Awards 2010. 

The King’s Arms in St Just, which is part of St Austell Brewery’s 176-strong pub estate, was crowned Best Turnaround Business, and its landlords Best Newcomers for the South West in the prestigious awards.

Camborne pub Best in the West

tyacks1Staff at the Tyack’s Hotel in Camborne are celebrating this week after it was named the Best Tenanted/Leased Pub in the West Country. 

The 18th century coaching inn, which has a 3-star AA rating and is part of St Austell Brewery’s 176 strong pub estate, now goes through to the final of the Great British Pub Awards 2010 with a chance of being named Best in Britain at the prestigious awards ceremony to be held in Park Lane on September 9.

Cornish Pirates tour St Austell Brewery

Visitors to St Austell Brewery got the chance to meet their rugby heroes this week as the Cornish Pirates toured the Brewery. 

The first team players signed shirts and Tribute rugby balls for fans during the visit on Wednesday, August 11. 

They had a guided tour of the family-owned Brewery, before meeting staff and customers, and sampling some award-winning St Austell ales.

St Austell Brewery Honoured At National Beer 'Oscars'

Brew_Team_compSt Austell Brewery is celebrating after scooping an unprecedented three awards at Britain’s biggest beer festival.

It was the only Cornish brewery to win at the prestigious Great British Beer Festival held at Earl’s Court exhibition centre in London yesterday (Tuesday, August 3 2010).

Admiral’s Ale was crowned the Champion Bottled Beer of Britain in the flagship awards run by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) - regarded as the industry Oscars.
