Daring Doctor Completes Round Britain Adventure

Dominic Byrne in the RIB, sponsored by the South West’s favourite beerHe has battled 30ft waves, almost capsized, and very nearly wrecked the boat – but Dominic Byrne is back at home in Truro this week after completing his amazing attempt to circumnavigate the British Isles by sea.

Sponsored by St Austell Brewery’s flagship beer, Tribute, the 50-year-old thrill seeker set off on the mammoth 2,000 mile adventure on June 12 to raise much-needed funds for Cornwall Hospice Care.

Brewery Does The Treble!

Tribute South West FavouriteFor the first time in its 159-year history, St Austell Brewery made three brews in one day on Wednesday (June 16). 

Brewing began at 5am and continued until 11pm – the equivalent of 450 brewers’ barrels of Tribute (129,600 pints) brewed in one day. To put this into perspective, when James Staughton took over as managing director a decade ago, there were just three brews a week.

Simply the best – Admiral’s Ale UK’s top bottled beer

Admirals Ale BottleSt Austell Brewery is celebrating winning the ultimate drink industry accolade after Admiral’s Ale was crowned the best bottled ale in the UK at the 2010 Quality Drink Awards. 

The beer beat off stiff competition from some of the biggest names in the business to clinch the top title. 

It is the latest in a long line of awards for St Austell Brewery, and a second key award for Admiral’s Ale, having been Supreme Champion at the International Beer Challenge in 2008.

St Austell Brewery Donates Charity Cash

Left to right – Trevor Bould, finance director of Cornwall Hospice Care with Jeremy Mitchell, Marketing Director of St Austell Brewery, with re-launching the charitable trust at the Royal Cornwall Show.St Austell Brewery re-launched its charitable trust with new vigour at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show, kicking it off with a £5,000 donation to Cornwall Hospice Care. 

The family-owned business – one of Cornwall’s largest independent employers – hopes the St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust will raise £50,000 this year alone.
