St Austell Brewery’s Head Brewer, Roger Ryman, will have his head shaved as part of the ‘Beer, Food, Music and Good Times’ festival this month at the King’s Arms in Tregony.
Visitors to the historic Cornish pub on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 April will be able to sample more than 12 real ales, including St Austell Brewery favourites, microbrews and others from further afield.
There will be music both nights, food including a hog roast and paella, and a raffle and auction featuring a host of fantastic prizes. On Saturday between 12-4pm, a craft fair will take place in a marquee at the pub.
As part of fundraising efforts, five brave souls will wave goodbye to their head or leg hair. Head Brewer Roger will have his head shaved alongside Rob Allen, Joe Trebilcock and Pete Higham, whilst Ricky Pearce and Simon Matthews will receive full leg waxes.
The event will be opened by Miss Cornwall, Rosalie Douglass, on the Friday. Rosalie is from Tregony and an active member of the community. The event will raise funds for three charities via the St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust: The Merlin MS Centre, Little Harbour (Children’s Hospice South West Precious Lives Appeal) and Mount Edgecumbe Hospice.
