The first ever Cornish pub – The Cornish Arms – threw open its doors at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
St Austell Brewery recreated a typical Cornish pub at the heart of the festival, offering thousands of revellers a warm, Cornish welcome and a cool, refreshing pint of Cornish real ale.
Jeremy Mitchell, Marketing Director of St Austell Brewery, said: “This was our first time at Glastonbury and our first experience of an event on this scale - and what a fantastic experience it was.
“The Cornish Arms was a simple concept: an 18m2 marquee decorated with images of Cornish legends and flying surfboards, designed to provide a taste of Cornish pub life in the heart of Glastonbury festival.
“We knew it would be busy but had no idea just how busy. Over five days of trading the Cornish Arms sold a staggering 30,000 pints.
“There was a lot of interest in our ales so it was a brilliant showcase for Tribute and Proper Job, and by working with Tim Vigus, a St Austell Brewery tenant and his staff, the Cornish Arms also shone a light on the excellent talent in our pub estate.”
