St Austell Brewery is celebrating this week after it was revealed all three pubs shortlisted in this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards are part of its 176-strong estate.
The three finalists in the Pub of the Year category are The Golden Lion Inn, at Stithians Lake; The Pandora Inn at Restronguet Creek and The Rashleigh Arms at Charlestown.
These popular Cornish pubs are no strangers to awards. The Golden Lion was crowned pub of the year in the Cornwall Tourism Awards in 2007, took silver in 2006 and bronze in 2009. The Pandora Inn was Cornish pub of the year in 2005 and the Rashleigh Arms won silver in 2009, and this year was named the UK’s Best Managed Pub at the prestigious Publican Awards.
Adam Luck, Estate Director for St Austell Brewery, said: “We are justifiably proud of all our pubs and are delighted the efforts of these pubs and their hardworking staff have been recognised.
“We’re now looking forward to a bit of friendly competition at the ceremony and to one of these three worthy contenders adding a few more awards to the collection.”
The Cornwall Tourism Awards take place at St Mellion International Hotel and Country Club on October 7.
