Torquay based Nirvana Properties Ltd have today announced that they have entered into a Joint Venture partnership with St Austell Brewery Co Ltd for the redevelopment of The Old Market House in Brixham.
Well in excess of £1 Million is being invested in this flagship project to provide a family friendly licensed food led venue overlooking the inner harbour in the centre of the town.
Adam Luck, Estate Director for St Austell Brewery said: “Brixham is a wonderful location and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Nirvana to turn this neglected site into something special which will appeal to visitors as well as to local residents alike. Our vision is to create a unique environment within this Grade II Listed building for casual dining with an emphasis on Brixham landed fish dishes as well as making full use of the excellent local Devon farmed produce.
Philip Kirkup of Nirvana Properties commented: “It is very gratifying to see these years of negotiation coming to fruition and enabling us to create a venue which will be in keeping with the surroundings while providing an appealing destination for visitors to Brixham. We are also excited to be working with the highly respected and successful Cornish family firm St Austell Brewery who already run a number of award winning hotels and inns in South Devon, including the Masons Arms at Branscombe and the Hope and Anchor at Hope Cove.

Architect Steve Peacock of Design Management Partnership and contractors Blacknoll Ltd have been appointed by Nirvana and Brixham based Gould &Co are retained on various aspects of project management.The opening is planned for early August.
