St Austell Brewery throws open the doors to its Victorian cellars this month for the popular Celtic Beer Festival.

On November 26th 2011 the annual event transforms the old wine cellars and vaults beneath the brewery into a great event venue; oozing with atmosphere … and beer!

With more than 150 real ales on offer, including exciting new brews, live music throughout the day and traditional Cornish pub food, even the biggest beer aficionados will be satisfied. Highly regarded as one of the county’s biggest ale festivals, beer and music lovers will enjoy the day whilst raising valuable funds for St Austell Brewery’s Charitable Trust.

This year, special festival brews to look out for include St Awesome – 5% malty strong bitter; Wa'lli'be – 4.7% golden IPA brewed with New Zealand and Australian hops, and Tipsy Blonde - 4.7% Platinum ale. The new brews will be featured alongside the familiar favourites such as Tribute (4.2%) to the weird and wonderful like Grand Imperial Chocolate Stout (9.5%).

With more acts still to be announced, the bands already confirmed include the Elevators, Gallow Glass, Crowns, Motown Pirates, The Bucket Boys and Three Minute Warning.

Since it was launched in 2003, St Austell Brewery’s Charitable Trust has raised almost £300,000 for local charities and good causes in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. This year’s nominated charities include Little Harbour and Cornwall Hospices.

Doors to the Celtic Beer Festival open from 11am until 11pm and entrance for adults is £10 each and includes a beer glass to keep and two beer tokens.
