One of the oldest businesses in Cornwall, St Austell Brewery, is proud to celebrate the launch of a new book charting its 160 year family history – Cornish Born & Brewed.

The book was officially launched at Waterstone’s in Truro last night (Tuesday November 15th), with author Liz Luck in attendance to sign copies.

First published in 2001, the book has been updated by the author, Liz Luck and redesigned by St Austell-based Leap Design to reflect the recent achievements of the brewery, developments in the brewing and pub industry, and the Brewery’s standing within the Cornish community, over the last decade.

Cornish Born & Brewed looks back over the Brewery’s 160 year heritage, and highlights of the last 10 years - from its ever-growing range of award winning, innovative ales and highly regarded home-cooked pub food through to events and the staff that are part of the Brewery’s 170-strong pub estate.

Jeremy Mitchell, Marketing and Communications Director, St Austell Brewery, said: “The book has allowed us to reflect on what a busy and exciting 10 years it has been for both the Brewery and Cornwall as a whole. Author_Liz_Luck

“Packed full of significant moments including winning the prestigious Regional Brewer of the Year 2009 at the National Publican Awards through to the much sadder Pandora fire in 2010, the book is illustrated with photographs detailing key developments in the Brewery’s strong 160 year history.”

The book, which is priced at £9.99, is available to buy at Waterstones in Truro and online at www.staustellbreweryshop.co.uk
