On Friday 11th May, rugby teams from across Somerset came together at Chard RFC to celebrate the end of the season.
The award ceremony also marked the end of a successful fifth year of St Austell Brewery’s flagship ale, Tribute, sponsoring grass roots South West rugby.
Presentations were made by the Chairman of Somerset RFU, John Hole, who joined clubs from across the county.
The winning teams were announced as follows:
- Tribute Western Counties West Championship - North Petherton RFC
- Tribute Western Counties North Championship - Chard RFC
- Tribute Somerset Premier - Avon RFC
- Tribute Somerset 1 - Old Redcliffians RFC II
- Tribute Somerset 2 North – Old Redcliffians RFC III
- Tribute Somerset 3 North - Old Redcliffians RFC IV
- Tribute Somerset 2 South - Chard RFC II
- Tribute Somerset 2 South - Burnham-On-Sea RFC II
- U18’s Somerset League Champions Award 2011-2012 - Taunton RFC
- New “You’ve Earned It Award” Tribute Trophy for the Somerset Team Award 2011-2012 - John Evans from North Petherton RFC was awarded the trophy.
Danny Crabb, Regional Sales Manager of St Austell Brewery said: “The South West’s favourite ale, Tribute and one of the region’s favourite sports, rugby form such a great partnership and we are honoured to celebrate the end of season success with teams from across Somerset.”
