We serve excellent food at all levels. From simple bar snacks to full 3-course meals in our popular Elizabethan Restaurant, our food is consists almost entirely of local and locally sourced ingredients.  Devon is a wonderfully rich food region and we are fortunate to have a great network of quality suppliers literally on our doorstep, supplying us with everything we need to create tasty and attractive modern British cuisine. 

Topsham has an idyllic setting on the banks of the River Exe.  Although it is only four miles from the bustling centre of Exeter City, it is very much a self-contained town with its own individual culture and heritage.  During the 17th Century the town was a thriving centre of commerce and still retains much of this period's architechture.  Many of the streets are still lined with 17th Century houses built by the Dutch merchants who traded in this area many years ago.  To compliment this unique historical setting Topsham has its own museum that charts the town's growth throughout the centuries. 

There is also an open air pool which is open during the spring and summer months and guided boat tours that explore the picturesque Exe estuary.  There are plenty of scenic walks in this area and our hotel staff have the local knowledge neccesary to recommend routes to our guests.  Remarkable for its family owned business and individual boutiques, the town is a great place to spend a day shopping.

We are the only hotel in Topsham and offer comfortable accommodation in 19 rooms, all en-suite including character four-posters and half-testers in the main inn and more modern accommodation in the Courtyard annex.

Facilities include television, direct dial telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, free wi-fi internet connection (available in some rooms and in the public areas of The Globe).A number of rooms can be made into family rooms for children of any age. We accept well-behaved pets by prior notice (small surcharge).
