How long will it take?


Upskilling for Door Supervisors is delivered over 1 day.

What does the course include?

Upskilling for Door Supervisors consists of the two following mandatory units:

  1. Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry
  2. Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors

    Course runs  - 9am to 5pm

Lunch provided

Who is the course for? 

In March 2012 it was announced by the SIA that all Door Supervisors who had completed the pre-QCF Door Supervision (e.g. NAtional Certificate for Door Supervisors) are now required to undertake additional training in order to renew their licence.

From February 4th 2013, all Door Supervisors with an older SIA qualification now need to pass the new 'Upskilling for Door Supervisors' award before they are able to renew their SIA Licence.

What qualification do I get?

 On successful completion you will be awarded the BIIAB Upskilling for Door Supervisors award.

What does it cost?

  1. Working in the Private Security Industry
  2. Working as a Door Supervisor
  3. Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry
  4. Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry

Who is the course for? 

If you want to work within the private security industry as a qualified and licensed Door Supervisor you are required to carry out the training listed below. This course takes you through everything you need to know about the roles and responsibilities of a door supervisor, as well as how to deal with difficult and sometimes even violent situations.
