For many, Pendeen and the surrounding area of West Penwith represent the unspoilt West Cornwall as depicted in so many television series such as Poldark and the Rosamund Pilcher stories. We look forward to welcoming you. Peter and Georgina Cass.

Halfway Between Land's End & St Ives

The Radjel Inn Pub with B&B is situated on the B3306 coastal road halfway between Land's End and St Ives in the heart of the village opposite the school and close to the post office, local shop and church. As the crow flies, it is less than a mile from the sea and, from the rear and the bedrooms, there is a fine view over the Atlantic with spectacular sunsets during the summer months. This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and there are large tracts of moorland and buildings which are managed by the National Trust.

Unspoilt Cornwall

For many, Pendeen and the surrounding area of West Penwith represent the unspoilt West Cornwall as depicted in so many television series such as Poldark and the Rosamund Pilcher stories. This is a rugged country of dramatic cliffs and quiet coves, of windswept moorland, of gorse and heather. This is a land of stone-age monuments, iron-age forts and centuries of tin mining history.

Pendeen - An Excellent Base For Exploring The Area

However, although giving the impression of remoteness, more and more visitors are discovering that Pendeen is an excellent base for exploring the area. Not only the moors and cliffs but also the towns of St Just, Penzance and St Ives (with the Tate Gallery), Land's End, St Michael's Mount and the fishing villages of Newlyn and Mousehole are all within 10 miles, as well as golf courses, riding stables and fishing and, at the end of the day, there is comfortable, spacious and quiet accommodation to be enjoyed at the North Inn. Even the Eden Project at St Austell, the Maritime Museum at Falmouth, Flambards Amusement Park at Helston, the city of Truro and many other visitor attractions are all relatively close at hand.

Geevor Tin Mine Museum

Right on the doorstep is Geevor Tin Mine which was one of the last working tin mines in Cornwall. This is now a museum which has the most complete range of buildings for a mine of this type in Europe where the whole history of mining from the earliest days can be experienced, including an underground tour. Funding is currently being sought to vastly expand the area of underground workings to provide an even more fascinating insight into how mining developed right up to the 20th century.

Main access routes: Village Pub on St Ives to Land's End coast road. 2 Bars both with open fires in winter months We are on the B3306. The nearest railway station is Penzance which is only 8 miles away.
