New award winning tenants for the Jubilee Inn, Pelynt
Multi-award-winning pub managers Charlie and Carole Edgeler are celebrating taking the helm of the historic Jubilee Inn, Pelynt.

Charlie and Carole established themselves as one of Cornwall's most successful pub management teams during four years running the acclaimed Norway Inn, at Perranarworthal.

Now they're planning to put the Jubilee Inn well and truly on the map after taking on the tenancy of the 16th century South East Cornwall pub.

Charlie and Carole bring with them a wealth of awards and accolades from across all sectors of the industry for their dedication and hard work while at the Norway Inn, including the national title for ‘Best Managed House' at the licensed trade newspaper Morning Advertiser Pub of the Year Awards and Best Marketing Pub in the national Publican Awards.

They've also scooped Silver in Cornwall's Tourism Pub of the year, a St Austell Brewery Award for ‘Training Pub of the Year' and spent a week visiting St Petersburg, Russia, last spring after winning an award for the Brewery's most successful managers - for the third year running.

Charlie said: "Taking on the Jubilee is a big step for us but we are more than ready for the challenge.

"We aim to build on the success of running the Norway Inn and hope to really put the Jubilee Inn on the map by selling the great range of St Austell ales, providing locally sourced, home-cooked food and above all, making our customers feel welcome with excellent service."

Charlie added: "We won't be resting on our laurels and a full diary of events is planned including Festive Season lunches and dinners, and Christmas Day lunch."

James Staughton, Managing Director, St Austell Brewery, whose local is the Jubilee, said: "Charlie and Carole bring with them vast experience of the industry and have gained an excellent reputation thanks to their commitment to giving customers great service born out of good, old fashioned values and standards.'

"We wish them all the very best at the Jubilee Inn and welcome their enthusiasm for wanting to take the pub forward."

The Jubilee Inn, a traditional village pub with oak-beamed ceilings and open fires, dates from the 16th century. The inn has room for over 100 guests inside the cosy bars and restaurants. Outside there is ample space for over 80 guests on the newly tiled patio, part of which has been fully covered (and is heated). Behind this is a large grassed beer garden, enclosed by a low hedge and overlooking beautiful countryside.

Located in the small village of Pelynt, on the B3359, the pub hosts thirteen accommodation rooms and ample parking. The Jubilee also sits in an ideal location for exploring the nearby fishing ports of Looe and Polperro.
