Pescadou - the hugely popular Padstow-based restaurant, has re-opened its doors after a £45,000 refurbishment.
St Austell Brewery has re-launched the restaurant, which is part of The Old Custom House Hotel, following a complete re-design which has given it a contemporary, rustic twist.
The restaurant's new look is complimented by a brand new menu, which features a selection of freshly prepared dishes cooked with locally sourced ingredients all inspired by Pescadou's spectacular location overlooking the harbour.
Linda Prior, Manageress at the Old Custom House and Pescadou says that the refurbishment has transformed the restaurant.
"We're incredibly proud and delighted with the new surroundings and the new menu at Pescadou. With fantastic new lighting and a new colour scheme visitors can expect a new lavish area to dine in.
"Because of the prime position of the restaurant we're able to serve fantastically fresh fish straight from the harbour for the restaurant. The feedback we've had in our first few days of opening has been fantastic."
Naturally for a restaurant so closely linked to the sea, fresh fish and seafood feature prominently on the menu, with dishes such as:
- Grilled turbot fillet with a roast langoustine bisque sauce
- ½ or whole grilled Padstow lobster with garlic and chili oil
Other examples from the menu include:
- Chargrilled marinated rib-eye steak over crisp salad leaves and fries
- Cornish spring lamb chops, colcannon and mint béarnaise
Vegetarian options include:
· Chargrilled vegetable linguine with basil and Parmesan
· Risotto of asparagus, lemon and Gevrik goats cheese
Visitors will also find a specials board and an exciting and extensive new wine list developed by the hotel team working with St Austell Brewery's expert wine buyer Xenia Irwin.
Pescadou and the Old Custom House is located on the South Quay, Padstow, is open for lunch and dinner and has the capacity for just over 70 covers.
