Brewed in collaboration with New Zealand brewers, Yeastie Boys, Anthracite is a Black IPA. Created in a unique way suggested by Yeastie Boys head brewer JK, we added dark malt on top of the mash, cold - to extract the rich colour, whilst leaving any roasty astringent flavours behind. Moutere, Hüll Melon, El Dorado and Centennial hops were added to the end of the boil and the hopback, providing tangerine, tropical and floral notes. The beer is fermented with WLP028 yeast, a strain that neither brewery has used before. It produces underlying esters of pear and melon which work well with hop and malt derived notes, the perfect pairing for a hoppy dark beer.

St Austell cask ales, in line with the vast majority of other cask ales produced in the UK, are clarified by the addition of isinglass finings to the beer in the cask. 
As isinglass finings are derived from fish collagen, cask ales are not suitable for vegans or vegetarians.
