Spreading Christmas Cheer
We've launched a beer advent calendar with a selection of 24 award-winning beers from our brewery and Bath Ales.

The months have been flying past and as we get to the season of festivities it’s time to countdown and what better way than with a Beer Advent Calendar.

This advent calendar with a difference is a selection of 24 award-winning beers and it’s a well-earned treat that no beer lover will be able to resist.

For generations, people have used various ways to countdown to Christmas. Advent comes from the Latin word ‘adventus’ meaning arriving and was thought to be used to describe the period before one was baptised and started from the last Sunday in November until Christmas.

The tradition of advent calendars started in the mid-19th century by German Protestants who marked chalk on doors and lit candles counting the days until Christmas.

The first known advent calendar was made in 1851 and it was in the early 1900s that they were first printed. Calendars filled with chocolate began to appear from the late 1950s.

The beers in the advent calendar include our popular brands such as Tribute, Korev, Proper Job and Gem, alongside specials from our Small Batch Brewery, offering up a different brew every day during the run-up to Christmas.

From chocolatey stouts to light hoppy ales and everything in between, the calendar costs £65 and contains 14 x 500ml and ten x 330ml bottles. They’re available to pre-order from our Visitor Centre and online shop.

Orders will be dispatched from November 13th. In order to receive calendars before December 1, the final order date is midnight on Sunday, November 26th.
