Fisherman’s Friends – the Movie, is a moving tale of camaraderie, sticking together through thick and thin and everything Cornwall, and Port Isaac’s favourite sons are hitting new heights thanks to this big screen adaptation of their dramatic rise to fame. Based around their early years, their lifelong friendship and shared experiences, the film was shot in and around the North Cornwall village and, as you’d expect, spends a lot of time in the Buoy Band’s favourite haunt, , The Golden Lion pub.
The screenplay was written by Nick Moorcroft and Meg Leonard, the team behind the recent UK comedy success Finding Your Feet, so should feature a lot of belly laughs and a lot of feel good.
Our Marketing and Communications Director Jeremy Mitchell said, “This is a film that has been brewing for some time. We’ve been long term partners of the Friends and they truly deserve this kind of spotlight, having done so much for local charities and Cornwall over the years. Their feet are always firmly rooted in the ground around them so we’re sure they won’t let any of this extra attention go to their heads but, as always, we raise a glass in Tribute to them and look forward to raising a few with them to celebrate the film’s release.”
Fisherman’s Friends is produced by James Spring for Fred Films, and Nick Moorcroft and Meg Leonard for Powder Keg Pictures. The film is released in cinemas nationwide by Entertainment Film Distributors on 15th March 2019
