Proper Partnership
We've signed up Cornish chef, Jack Stein as a Proper Job IPA ambassador.

Jack, who recently released his debut cookbook ‘World on a Plate’ (published by Absolute Press, an imprint of Bloomsbury Publishing), is Chef Director at the Rick Stein group. As well as promoting Proper Job, and hosting cookery events in collaboration with the brand, Jack has developed a collection of recipes and food pairings to complement the popular beer’s bold and hoppy flavour profile.

Award-winning Proper Job (5.5% ABV bottle and can / 4.5% ABV cask) is one of our most celebrated beers. The IPA (India Pale Ale) the biggest selling premium bottled conditioned beer in the country, is brewed with Cornish spring water and blends powerful American hops with the finest quality malt. Proper Job is a powerfully hopped golden beer that explodes with citrus, grapefruit flavours and has a refreshing bitter finish.

Speaking about the new partnership, Proper Job ambassador Jack Stein said: “Having grown up in Cornwall it’s really exciting to be working with one of the most successful and well-known Cornish brewers in the country - especially one that shares my passion for sourcing its ingredients locally, wherever possible.

“Proper Job is a real treat of an IPA and perfect for foodies as it’s big, bold and powerfully hopped. It’s a proper match for those looking for a beer to pair with a flavourful dish or incorporate into their cooking.”

Jeremy Mitchell, our Director of Marketing and Communications, said: “We’re delighted to announce Jack as our Proper Job ambassador – a Cornish chef on the rise who shares our values and passion for quality local produce and great tasting recipes.

“Proper Job is one of our most popular beers and has passionate ambassadors throughout the UK.  We’re delighted to be collaborating with Jack to celebrate its growing reputation and look forward to exciting times ahead.”

Our tenanted pub The Cornish Arms, in the village of St Merryn near Padstow, has been on lease to Rick Stein since 2009.
