As the only awards voted for entirely by pub licensees across the UK, the Publicans’ Choice Awards are highly respected across the brewing trade, with publicans being asked to take into consideration branding, quality, support and customer demand before making their final decision on their champions.
James Staughton, Chief Executive of St Austell Brewery, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have picked up this important award one more time. The fact that the awards are voted for by publicans and pub staff across the country make them all the more valued and it’s great to know that publicans across Britain recognise the quality of our products as well as our continued commitment to the high standards we put into service and support.
“Publicans are the lifeblood of our industry who work day in and day out for their customers. It is a real honour as a Cornish Company to receive such nationwide acclaim and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for us.”
The Publicans’ Choice Awards are organised by the Publican’s Morning Advertiser, the only weekly pub trade publication in the UK. Licensees across the country were invited to vote for their most rated suppliers across a range of categories, including Regional Brewer, National Cider Supplier, National Soft Drink Supplier, National Cask Ale Brewer, National Wine Supplier, National Lager Brewer, Dream Brand, Best New Brand and National Spirits Supplier.
Ed Bedington, Editor of the Publican’s Morning Advertiser, commented ““The Publican’s Choice Awards are a true reflection of the views of pub operators up and down the country, so to be nominated as a winner is a great achievement and shows you’re really hitting the mark with your customers. Pubs deal with many suppliers throughout their business, so to stand out and win a Publican’s Choice Award is something to be proud of. Well done to St Austell.”
