Feast & Tide

Originally brewed last year for Mevagissey Feast Week and to celebrate Louise Churms’, our resident Meva maid and IT whizz, 27th anniversary at the Brewery (we were a little late as it should have been for 25 years). After some conversations between Louise and Rob Orton - our Brewing & Bottling Manager - things started to slowly come together and Feast & Tide, our gooseberry and lime pale ale was created. Originally we only made six 9G casks but it was so well received around the watering holes of Mevagissey harbour, we just had to brew it again. A simple Maris Otter and wheat malt base are met with lashings of whole gooseberries and lime zest layered over Citra and Comet hops, to produce a stunningly crisp, zesty and refreshing session pale ale.

St Austell cask ales, in line with the vast majority of other cask ales produced in the UK, are clarified by the addition of isinglass finings to the beer in the cask.
As isinglass finings are derived from fish collagen, cask ales are not suitable for vegans or vegetarians.
