Lucky 7 - 4.5%

Lucky 7 is a classic Irish Red Ale brewed by Adam Lumb, who has been a brewer at St Austell for six years now.

Closely related to English Bitters, the refreshing balance of lightly-hopped, malty flavour alongside a clean finish and distinctive red hue is achieved through the skilful blending of four malts and three hop varieties. Maris Otter, Crystal, malted oats and roasted barley work together to achieve the clean flavour and base of the beer, whilst the roasted barley also gives the distinct colour and, coupled with the oats, the malty toast aroma.

Three English hop varieties are used; the classic Fuggle and Challenger sit alongside Admiral to gives a touch of zestiness. These English hops give a clean bitterness whilst not being overpowering, resulting in perfectly well-balanced drinkability.

St Austell cask ales, in line with the vast majority of other cask ales produced in the UK, are clarified by the addition of isinglass finings to the beer in the cask.
As isinglass finings are derived from fish collagen, cask ales are not suitable for vegans or vegetarians.
