Royal Standard Inn , Hayle
The Royal Standard stands in a prominent position just on the main road in Hayle. The town itself has undergone much development and is surrounded
by holiday parks and glorious golden sands. The trading profile varies throughout the year with a local wet trade through the winter based around Sports and teams. Due to the holiday location the Royal Standard benefits from a seasonal uplift and although it does not offer food now there is an opportunity to develop a traditional based food offer. The site over the years has developed a strong local drinking trade and a great reputation for its beers with our current tenants winning St Austell brewery best beer house 2018 at our annual awards.
The trade area is open plan but has two sections, a pool area and a bar area. There is also a section that houses the darts board (as indicated the site over the years has developed strong team activities in local leagues). The bar area has benefited from a recent refurbishment and is in very good condition. To the front of the premises is a patio area that has seating for around 20 – 30 persons. There is a small car park to the side with approximately 8 parking spaces. In addition, there are ancillary buildings that offer future opportunity to develop the site further.
The private accommodation basically consists of four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open plan dining room / lounge. Downstairs there is a galley style kitchen used for domestic cooking but could be utilised for a basic trade menu.
The ideal person for the Royal Standard is someone willing to actively be involved with local community activities, pub sports and charity events. Having a passion for great beer, giving a friendly and warm welcome to all - and the ability to react to the seasonal uplift due to its holiday location. A proactive operator who is willing to explore traditional food offerings through the summer holiday season.
