We’ve launched the Tribute Ale Trail – how to get involved

We're inviting beer lovers to explore some of the South West's most-loved pubs as our new Tribute Ale Trail launches across more than 150 of our venues to mark the start of Cask Ale Week 2026.

Created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our flagship golden ale, Tribute, the trail rewards participants for visiting pubs across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset, with prizes ranging from free pints to a complimentary overnight stay.

From cosy village locals and coastal inns to countryside favourites, the trail is all about discovering new destinations, supporting local pubs and enjoying one of the region’s best-loved cask ales along the way.

Trail maps are available from any participating pub. Simply purchase a pint of Tribute to receive that venue’s exclusive location sticker, with only one sticker available per pub. To progress through the trail, you’ll need to visit different venues across the region, with bigger rewards available as you collect more stickers.

    The rewards

    • Collect stickers from 10 different participating pubs and receive a free pint of Tribute
    • Visit 50 different pubs and earn a £50 St Austell Brewery voucher
    • Reach 100 different pubs and receive a further £50 voucher
    • Complete the entire trail by visiting all participating pubs and win a one-night stay at a St Austell Brewery managed house worth £200

The Tribute Ale Trail is particularly special for us as it’s the first ale trail to span our South West pub estate in more than a decade. It’s a celebration of not only Tribute, but also the brilliant pubs, publicans and communities that continue to champion cask ale across the region.

The trail launches during a landmark year for both Tribute, which turns 25, and St Austell Brewery, which is celebrating its 175th anniversary. To mark the occasion, we’ve also unveiled a special commemorative Tribute glass, showcasing the beer’s heritage, quality ingredients and the people behind its success.

As our Brewing Director, Georgina Young, explains:

“The South West is home to some of Britain’s best pubs, so we wanted to create something that gives people a reason to get out and experience more of them.

“The Tribute Ale Trail is part pub adventure, part celebration of cask ale and a chance to support the brilliant pubs and communities that make this region so special. Whether you’re aiming for 10 pubs or all 157, it’s a great excuse to explore somewhere new, find a new favourite pub and enjoy a pint along the way.”

Tribute began life as an experimental brew created by our former Head Brewer Roger Ryman to mark Cornwall’s solar eclipse in 1999, before becoming a permanent part of our beer portfolio in 2001.

Twenty-five years on, it has grown into one of Britain’s best-known cask ales while remaining proudly rooted in the South West.

Over the years, Tribute has supported sporting organisations and communities across the region, including Cornwall County Cricket Club, Cornish Pirates and Bath Rugby, and today is the official beer partner of Plymouth Argyle.

Whether you’re collecting your first sticker or setting your sights on visiting all 157 pubs, the Tribute Ale Trail is a chance to discover somewhere new, celebrate great cask ale and raise a glass to 25 years of Tribute.
