From our proud beginnings in St Austell, Cornwall to our cutting-edge facilities at Hare Brewery in Bristol, we’ve always been driven by the desire to brew brilliant beer. Blending time-honoured traditions with forward-thinking innovation, we craft each pint with care, character and a deep respect for our heritage. Rooted in tradition and fuelled by innovation, we’re proud to pour the spirit of the South West into every pint.
Where it all began...
The business was founded in 1851 but it was in 1893 that we landed at our iconic St Austell site, a pioneering Victorian brewery of its time and still the heart of our craft today. It’s also home to our Small Batch Brewery, launched in 2015, where we explore bold styles, and new hops and malts in limited-edition brews.
Investing in our future
In 2016, we joined forces with the team at Bath Ales and united two great South West breweries with a shared passion for brilliant beer. Not long after, Hare Brewery opened its doors: a cutting-edge facility with some of the best brewing talent and equipment in the region – including a state-of-the-art canning line. Quality, craft and innovation are at our core, and we’re proud to brew the drinks you love and shape the future of South West beer.
GO BEHIND THE SCENES
Go beyond the pint with a behind-the-scenes tour of St Austell Brewery. Explore our rich brewing history, discover how our beers have evolved, and enjoy a guided tasting session. After the tour you can tuck into delicious dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, plus a freshly poured pint, at Hicks Bar. Then swing by our brewery shop to grab your favourite brews to take home. It’s a must-do for beer and food lovers.
